DistroWatch shows 4MLinux 33.0 as one of the distribution releases today and stated it “includes tools for data rescue, multimedia, network services, and games.” I like ‘Specialty’ Linux Distros & “Rescue” stuff is generally interesting; however, without keyboard ‘n mouse support nothing is going to get rescued.

Created a ‘Live’ USB with Rufus first … then created a ‘Live’ USB with their suggested UNetbootin choice. No wireless keyboard/mouse support on either of my Linux testing Computers – ‘InWin’ & ‘Apevia’. It would boot into the desktop, but no wireless keyboard/mouse support.

I keep a wired USB keyboard and wired USB mouse handy in case I have testing problems – only the wired keyboard would work…on both the Rufus & UNetbootin ‘Live’ versions and both test computers.

I’m over my ISP data allowance, so this 4MLinux 32.0 older version download is incredibly slow…have Bonus data left, but that is from 2 AM to 8 AM EST. Just wanted to see if it’s the new release having keyboard/mouse problems. Slow…like 320 KB/s slow and it’s a 777 MB iso. Normal surfing is fine, but they throttle the speed on downloads after you run out, and I don’t add more data anymore…20th of the month starts a new data allowance.

That was a waste of time…still no wireless keyboard/mouse support, and I’m not dragging out the wired input devices again. Maybe it wants PS/2 keyboard and mouse…sorry, but threw that old stuff away long ago.

Rule of Thumb – if you can’t install Ubuntu on it, then you can’t install any Linux Distro on it.
