This will be the ‘Foundation Post’ for a new Windows 11 Page. Over the past 20 months, I discovered that Linux “Desktop OS” was a terrible OS for normal ‘Desktop Duty’ – Linus Torvalds says it better Here: ‘For the last 20 years, I kept hearing how Linux on the Desktop would go mainstream in “five years.” “One of the problems Desktop” Linux has is it’s not made for “normal people, and by normal people I mean, obviously nontechnical people…”‘ Linux is for Developers, Programmers, IT Specialists, and other Technical type of OS users.

However, most people today use more than one OS, e.g. their phone may use Android OS, and their computer uses Windows 10. I use four different OSes daily – Windows 10, Android, Chrome OS, and various Linuxes (including CloudReady Linux). Check out the secondary/tertiary/quaternary OS choices on the Special *PURPOSE* Linuxes & Chromebooks pages.

Windows 10 experienced slow Desktop OS user acceptance after the Windows 8 & 8.1 disasters, but last year Windows 10 went over 1-Billion users, and by April 27, 2021 it had gone over 1.3-Billion users. “Normal” Desktop/Laptop OS users *LOVE* Windows 10, and there will be no slow acceptance of Windows 11.

It appears that the Windows 11 upgrade is going to be a slow ‘n steady rollout, starting with recently purchased Windows 10 computers ‘n devices first, and gradually upgrading the other 1.3-Billion Windows 10 eligible devices ‘by mid-2022’.

I will be watching for when the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool becomes available, and do early upgrades on at least two of my Five of my Computers. Right now, the Download Windows 10 webpage is still up, but that should change around October 5th, 2021. I will create a Windows 11 USB to do clean installs on all five officially eligible computers, and will document portions or all of those installations.

Will also be checking out sites like URcdkey ‘n KINGUIN to see when ‘n if they start offering Windows 11 Pro OEM CD-Keys. I have purchased 6-8 Windows 10 keys from URcdkey ‘n never had a problem…also purchased 2 Microsoft Office Home & Student 2016 CD Keys without any problems from them. Have purchase 1 or 2 keys from KINGUIN without problems. I am looking to move away from Microsoft Office, but haven’t found a reliable open source replacement yet. Here’s more info: How to Buy Windows 11.

Here are some Search Results on how I purchased, installed, and activated Windows 10 OEM keys. I believe there is a post or two on how to still upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in that list.

LINUX IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES – you never know what you’re gonna get!
