What has Linux *ACTUALLY* been doing for 30 years, besides creating a so-called “Desktop OS” meant for hobbyists & Technical People?!? Oh yeah, they keep updating the Linux kernel – over ‘n over ‘n over again ‘n again, for 30 years!?

I’ve been waiting since 1996 (25 years!) for Linux to move ahead of Microsoft as the #1 Desktop OS choice for normal people, and I’m now watching Google *KICK* Linux buttocks in front of the entire world…AGAIN!?

Simply kicking Linux buttocks wid Chromebooks wasn’t enough for Google, so they took a brief break, and are now back wid ‘Da HP Chromebase 21.5 inch All-in-One Desktop:

I had wrongly theorized that the Auto Update Expiration (AUE) date was going to give Google problems…*WRONG*!!! Nope .. Nary a problem, and in fact, they just have the OEM’s build a Chromebase.

Linux? Well, they did come out wid the 5.14 kernel recently – snicker snort snicker! And, they did manage to stay around 2% of the Worldwide Desktop/Laptop OS user base for almost 30 years, i.e. almost 30 years because they haven’t seen 2% for about a year now. At this rate, the Linux OS Worldwide users share could drop below 1% by this time next year.

Linux Elites don’t listen to users, a simple fact. Does Google listen to its users? Back on June 5, 2021 I wrote this post to Google: Google Google Google – all ‘Dat money ‘n can’t get a basic Wheel Mouse to auto scroll in their Chrome OS!?!

After 30 years, Linux still hasn’t mastered the basic Wheel Mouse, has never responded back to me on the mouse issues, but they did just come out wid another update to the Linux kernel, i.e. 5.14.

OK…how much does this new Chromebase cost?

Starting at $549.99, and that setup is fine for Chrome OS; however, upgrade to a Intel® Core™ i3-10110U, 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB), and 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD if you want to add a little more power ‘n storage capacity…for total of $699.99.
