Mayans M.C. is an American crime drama television series. The show takes place 2.5 years after the events of Sons of Anarchy and deals with the Sons’ rivals-turned-allies, the Mayans Motorcycle Club.

Some characters from Sons of Anarchy are also reprising their roles on Mayans M.C.

Charles “Chuckie” Marstein returns:

Chuckie had a serious “compulsive masturbation disorder” until he was given by the Sons of Anarchy back to the Chinese-American leader of the Oakland-based Lin Triad (Chinese-American organized crime syndicate). Here is what Chuckie’s hands looked like after the Lin Triad’s leader couldn’t stand the “compulsive masturbation disorder” anymore:

Chuckie “had all but his index fingers cut off” which apparently cured his “compulsive masturbation disorder.” Someone felt sorry for him ‘n purchased some kind of prosthetic fingers/hands contraption for him…before that was just the index finger on each hand.

At some point, Chuckie was won by “Coco” of the Mayans in a card game against SAMCRO, and went to work for them in their junkyard. BTW, Charles “Chuckie” Marstein isn’t even a main character in either of the series, so imagine how Kurt Sutter develops the main characters.

I ‘Cut the Cable‘ a long time ago, but do watch a lot of TV series & movies on DVD/Blu-ray, especially TV series. I probably run about 5-10 years behind the making of most series and possibly even longer for most movies I purchase. The Yellowstone series & even more recently the Mayans M.C. series are 2 of the ‘Newer‘ series I have started purchasing…2-3 more ongoing series ‘n a lot of finished series.

I don’t normally do TV series or movie reviews here on the Linux Newbie blog, in fact, the Yellowstone series is the only one I remember doing an intro to – Harrison Ford & Helen Mirren to Star in ‘Yellowstone’ Prequel ‘1932’ back in May of this year.

Just started watching season 1 a few days ago and finished it tonight.

Tremendous acting…puts the elite Woke Hollywood actors ‘n actresses to shame. Tremendous storytelling.

FX MAYANS:

Mayans M.C. follows the life of Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo), a member of the Mayans M.C. charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Once the golden boy with the American Dream in his grasp, EZ, his brother Angel (Clayton Cardenas) and the rest of the Santo Padre M.C. face retaliation from other chapters after a failed attempt to align under one King. Meanwhile, EZ and Angel have grown distant from their father Felipe (Edward James Olmos) after a heart wrenching betrayal.

Danny Pino, Carla Baratta, Michael Irby, Raoul Max Trujillo, Richard Cabral, Emilio Rivera, Sarah Bolger, Frankie Loyal, Joseph Lucero and Vincent Vargas also star in the gritty motorcycle drama.

Mayans M.C. was co-created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James.

  • Elgin James does a great job of writing…probably added some personal experiences to his efforts, giving the storytelling those unusual ‘Hard‘ edges.

Probably best to watch the Sons of Anarchy first…to follow the complete story-line, IMHO. I’ve only seen Season 1 of the Mayans M.C. so far, but I would say the overall acting (Top to bottom) is tied or better than I have ever seen, i.e. all the acting performances combined. For example, maybe Game of Thrones had better acting performances from their Top 3 actors or actresses thru Season 1, but Mayans M.C. had better overall acting performances from their actresses ‘n actors.

If the non-human ‘Actors‘ in Mayans M.C. are included, then the overall acting performances in Mayans M.C. *SMOKES* the Game of Thrones Season 1’s acting performances – by 10X‘s: Perro (was amazing!), Escorpión, Búho, Murciélago, Uch (means “Opossum” in Q’eqchi Mayan & Uch was Brilliant!!!), Gato, Cucaracha (wonderful acting!), Rata (was also amazing!), Serpiente (sly ‘n slick actor!), and Cuervo.
