Microsoft has been carrying the Computering World on its back for over 36-years wid much of that same Computering World whining, crying, kicking & screaming right up until today.

Some of the loudest Computering World‘s whining, crying, kicking & screaming came soon after the Windows 11 October 5, 2021 release date was announced…when, Microsoft gave the system requirements for upgrading to Windows 11 from Windows 10.

  • Malware Villains must pay many of these Web & Mag tech article writers that I have read, where the author whines about not being able to upgrade a Windows 10 PC to Windows 11. The Horror…

Professional Web & Mag tech article writers are supposedly knowledgeable on at least basic Technical issues ‘n such, but how many actually are, e.g. the Lifecycle Policy for Windows 10:

One of Windows 11’s system requirements is Trusted Platform Module (TPM). ‘Microsoft has stated that this is to help increase security against firmware and ransomware attacks.‘ Think Security! Windows 10 has support until October 14, 2025 so you still have over 3-years left before needing to think about buying a new computer.

Windows 11 Today

I upgraded 5 desktop PCs soon after Windows 11 was made available. Only issue I have had during this entire time was finding a way to pin “This PC” app/icon to the Taskbar. The 11/8/2021 Windows 11 “This PC” icon – Create ‘n Pin “This PC” icon to the Windows 11 Taskbar post has 1,747 views, and is the 7th most viewed post on this blog. The solution was quickly found ‘n I posted about it.

I had purchased Windows 10 Pro OEM CD-KEY GLOBAL-Lifetime keys for less than $20 each, when building a computer, then simply followed the instructions to then upgrade them to Windows 11 Pro when it became available. Did the same for a 6th desktop PC built from spare parts. My Dell XPS13 came wid Windows 10 Pro which I also upgraded to Windows 11 Pro.

Windows 11 has made it so easy to upgrade, and apparently even gave users the option to keep Windows 10 around for another 3-years.

Windows 11 after 9-months

Once again, many Web & Mag tech article writers have cast doubt on how Windows 11 is being accepted. Do these writers ever do research before writing an article?

Windows 11 had almost 165,000,000 million users in June 2022 or 10.96% of Desktop Windows Version Market Share Worldwide.

How does that compare to roughly 9-months after Windows 10 July 29, 2015 release?

Over 1.4-Billion Worldwide Windows 10 users in less than 7-years is definitely not ‘Slow‘ growth. Nor is a 9-month growth rate of 10.96% ‘Slow‘ growth for Windows 11, and especially not ‘Slow‘ since Windows 10 still has over 3-years of its Lifecycle left.

Conclusion

Windows 11 is on pace to become the most popular Desktop/laptop Operating System (OS) in the history of the Computering World – *AND* – the most secure Desktop/laptop Operating System (OS) in the history of the Computering World!
