$168 upgrade (tax included w/ free shipping) wid 16 GBs (2×8) of Ram ‘n a SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 500GB – M.2 NVMe Interface SSD (MZ-V7S500B/AM) added. Then, added a Adata XPG SX6000 Pro M.2 PCIE NVMe SSD that I’ve had in the ‘Stash’ box for a year or so. Then, switched the MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER™ VENTUS XS OC GPU from ‘Antec Jr.‘ to the ‘Apevia‘ computer, and gave ‘Antec Jr.’ the EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 XC GPU.

That gives my main ‘Apevia‘ computer 32 GBs of Ram ‘n two M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD’s plus a better GPU. Was going to buy a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB Founders Edition but it can handle PCIe 4.0 ‘n my MoBo only has 3.0. I’ll get the 3060 Ti FE on the next build or something better. 😉 For now, the 1660 SUPER™ is plenty for what my needs are…which doesn’t include gaming or workstations.

Yeah, my focus is on ‘Desktop Duty’ performance, and humble me needs UFO speeds to handle that! Desktop has run at 104/105 w/o any tweaks.

Clean Install

I went wid the ‘Clean Install of Windows 11_Without Internet Connection‘ method ‘n it zipped by in 6-minutes from start to end. No Microsoft Account was needed ‘n no password was added.

Hooked the Ethernet internet connection back up after installation ‘n updated the system ‘n added some drivers. It activated the digital license automatically:

I have the Taskbar back to how it was before the clean install…still adding apps to the Start Menu tho, and will probably be adding password logins for weeks now. 🙄 That’s one of the problems when a backup image doesn’t work, but wid the speed boost from the new Ram & new SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus M.2 PCIe NVMe it has been worth the effort. Future image backups will now work.

Conclusion

Probably my fastest Windows OS install…6-minutes is fast!

Signed into the Microsoft Account for this computer later, in order to reinstall the $33.46 Microsoft Office Home & Student 2016 CD Key from URcdkey, and Microsoft has finally made it easy to reinstall their software – that you purchased!

Both MS Word & LO Writer are giving me fits right now since I can’t remember all the setting I had!? LibreOffice isn’t allowing me to insert a new word without erasing the whole sentence. I will have to reinstall it because something is wrong. Word processors are a pain!!!! 😉 I changed so many setting in this Writer that I’ll need to reinstall ‘n start again…oops!

  • 8/18/2022 UPDATE: 1) Seems the LibreOffice 7.3.5.2 ISO may have gotten damaged by me copying it to a USB…then I made too many settings changes. Tried their newest 4.0 version but it was too new. Downloaded a new 7.3.5.2 ISO and it worked w/o any problems!? 2) Also got MS Word setup right…I would use it full-time for the blog if the WordPress Classic Editor didn’t double-space the paragraphs when I copy Word docs to it. 3) Made a backup image, wid Backup and Restore (Windows 7) app that comes wid Windows 11, and then restored it without any problems.

Will be posting this on the Windows 11 page, and also updating the Buy Low or BYOC – ‘Build Your Own Computer’ to reflect the changes.
