This is the Foundation Post for this Windows 11 page:
Snippets – Over the past 20 months, I discovered that Linux “Desktop OS” was a terrible OS for normal ‘Desktop Duty’ – Linus Torvalds says it better Here: ‘For the last 20 years, I kept hearing how Linux on the Desktop would go mainstream in “five years.” “One of the problems Desktop” Linux has is it’s not made for “normal people, and by normal people I mean, obviously nontechnical people…”‘
Windows 10 experienced slow Desktop OS user acceptance after the Windows 8 & 8.1 disasters, but last year Windows 10 went over 1-Billion users, and by April 27, 2021 it had gone over 1.3-Billion users. “Normal” Desktop/Laptop OS users *LOVE* Windows 10, and there will be no slow acceptance of Windows 11.
I will be watching for when the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool becomes available, and do early upgrades on at least some of my Five of my Computers. Right now, the Download Windows 10 webpage is still up, but that should change around October 5th, 2021.
Here are some Search Results on how I purchased, installed, and activated Windows 10 OEM keys in the past. I believe there is a post or two on how to still upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in that list.
